ساعاتی پیش نامزدهای نهمین دوره مراسم The Game Awards مشخص شد که در ادامه به آن می‌پردازیم.
کمتر از یک ماه تا برگزاری مراسم The Game Awards 2022 باقی مانده و از این رو، اکنون کاندیدای بهترین بازی‌های سال اخیر مشخص شده‌اند. مراسم امسال که در تاریخ 17 برگزار خواهد شد، شامل یک کتگوری جدید در بخش جوایز خواهد بود که به بهترین اثر اقتباسی از روی بازی‌های ویدئویی تعلق دارد.
در میان عناوین امسال، بازی God of War Ragnarok موفق شده تا با کسب نامزدی در 10 بخش مختلف، از جمله بهترین بازی سال، پیشتاز باشد و بالاتر از سایر بازیها قرار بگیرد. پس از آن، بازی‌های Elden Ring و Horizon Forbidden West نیز هر دو در 7 کتگوری مختلف نامزد شده‌اند. بهترین بازی‌های سال 2022 به انتخاب هیئت داوری (با 90 درصد تأثیر) و رای‌گیری مردمی (با 10 درصد تأثیر) مشخص خواهند شد.
